I have some disturbing news. In the last week of August and most of the first week of September, the Barber Shop has been closed. The shop is dark and there is no indication as to why it is closed. I have been calling and driving by, but no sign of life. I have been working at home for the last two weeks and have made numerous attempts to get an appointment. Something is amiss!

As you can see this is a problem for me. Questions are raised and a possible change of my routine might be in my future. Where is the Crack Head Barber? With a habit to support I would think a vacation is out of the picture. Is he in re-hab or jail? What about me? Am I doomed to the wife’s dreaded clippers? Our cat still looks strange.
Today I went by the shop and peered in. The windows are dusty and there is an air of disrepair and decay. I stood there and looked for some small sign that may explain the prolonged closure but did not observed anything. Normally when the CHB is not there, the barber with the depth perception issues will fill in. Because the other barber is not working I can conclude that this is not a normal absence. Maybe foul play is at hand.
My wife talked with me about coming to her beauty salon and getting a hair cut. She said she would do it under the tutelage of the normal beautician. She also said she has observed many men get haircuts and she stated. “I can do it easily”. I am apprehensive because I know she wants to change my hair cut style to look like some news guy on CNN. I have been getting the same hair cut since 1977 and I see no real reason to change. In addition I think if I change hairstyles it would hurt. My hair has had the same growth direction for 27 or so years and a change in direction would be a trauma. I did an experiment and combed it the other way. I could feel follicle pain and stress. Then after about 5 minutes, it fanned up into a kind of sail. Let’s say I was at a business meeting and this happened. How would I explain this kind of hair motion? I am worried. I figure I have at least 6 more weeks until I have to get a hair cut. I may be forced to go to my wife salon. What would I talk about with a beautician?
