AP: Janitor guilty in 'exorcism' death

July 10, 2004

Milwaukee, Wisconsin -- An American school janitor who moonlighted as an evangelical pastor was convicted of child abuse today in the death of an autistic boy during a "makeshift exorcism" ceremony. The exorcism took place at a strip mall evangelist church.

Ray Hemphill faces up to five years in jail on the charge and another five on supervised release.

My Take:

The story of the Janitor Exorcist is true. The stupidity of some people just amazes me. One of my “Life Rules” is this: If my kid is possessed by Lucifer, I will bring the kid to a Priest. I would not bring him to a Strip Mall janitor. The choice is pretty clear.

Q: Your child projectile vomits green stuff, flies around the room and says in a deep chilling voice that he is “Beelzebul“.  Where would you bring the child to
seek help?

A.  Church / Priest
B.  Strip Mall / Janitor.
